Aus Merchant have partnered with Jewish House to enable donations in cryptocurrency to help prevent Homelessness in Australia. Jewish House provides accommodation across Australia to help people in crisis or experiencing trauma, irrespective of their religion.

Homelessness Week runs from the 1st to the 7th of August 2021. It is an event run by Homelessness Australia to help promote awareness of the issues that 116,000 Australians face on any given night living without adequate shelter.

You can now donate your choice of up to 27 different cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), to help make a direct impact in the lives of Australians in need.

Every donation also receives a special NFT donation badge as a thank you from Jewish House and Aus Merchant for your support.

Rumours have it there is also a personalised 3D gold NFT for extra generous supporters…

How do I donate?

You can donate to Jewish House & Homelessness Week using Aus Merchant’s crypto invoicing software. You enter your desired donation amount in Australian Dollars (AUD) and you will be provided with a list of options in their equivalent token values.

From the invoice, you will be able to track the progress of your transaction on the blockchain network. Once the donation has completed successfully, you will be provided with an invoice of your donation to declare on your tax return.

We have also written a step-by-step guide on how to donate with cryptocurrency, for more info click here.

What does my donation go towards?

Your contribution goes directly towards funding 36 beds in the Inner West of Sydney, NSW. Our target is to raise $100,000 AUD in cryptocurrency to secure this location for an entire year during Homelessness Week.

The accommodation has been made available by the landlord at a generous rate and with the reasonable contribution made by each tenant, Jewish House now requires roughly $50 per bed per week in order to fully fund the project. Securing long-term accommodation provides stability for housing placements and allows the possibility of a greater level of support. This particular location will likely support around 100 people over the course of the year for people in need.

Every dollar (or token!) will go directly to getting people in crisis off the street and given support, whether that is through shelter, health or employment, Jewish House provides services to get people back on their feet and become fully self-sufficient again or overcome the difficulties they are facing.

Who is Jewish House & Aus Merchant?

Jewish House is a registered Australian charity, as authorised by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

Jewish House was founded in 1983 by brothers Anthony and Roger Clifford. Their substantial donation enabled the purchase of a building in Bondi and supported the organisation to grow through its early years.

Initially a centre for counselling those affected by drug and alcohol abuse, Jewish House has evolved to be recognised as a pre-eminent institution in the provision of a far broader range of crisis services across all ages and community profiles.

Aus Merchant has partnered with Jewish House to provide an institutional-grade cryptocurrency wallet to receive the funds and settlement in AUD.

Aus Merchant is a leading cryptocurrency broker based in Sydney, Australia. We are delighted to be able to provide our services to help the Australian community using the next generation of digital finance technology.
